ORDINANCE NO. 86,x_ ff- ) <br /> AN ORDINANCE creating a special revenue fund <br /> entitled "Emergency Medical Services Fund <br /> No. 153" authorizing the creation and develop- <br /> ment of emergency medical services for the <br /> City of Everett, supplementing appropriations <br /> of the budget for the City for 1982 and <br /> amending Ordinance No. 821-81 as amended by <br /> Ordinance No. g5a R0 . <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there exists a critical <br /> need for an emergency medical care or emergency medical services <br /> program in the City, including related personnel costs , training <br /> for such personnel, and related equipment, supplies , vehicles <br /> and structures needed for said services ; and <br /> WHEREAS, to provide such program it is deemed necessary and <br /> advisable that the City impose an additional regular property <br /> tax levy in the amount equal to twenty-five cents per thousand <br /> dollars of the assessed value of property in the City each year <br /> for six consecutive years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State of Washington <br /> require that the question of whether or not the City may impose <br /> said additional property tax levy for such purpose must be sub- <br /> mitted to the qualified electors of the City for their approval; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, on February 17, 1982 , the City Council of the City <br /> of Everett approved an ordinance calling for a general election <br /> to determine said issue; and <br /> WHEREAS, the qualified electors of the City voted approval of <br /> this property tax levy on April 6 , 1982 . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: A special revenue fund is hereby established as <br /> Fund No. 153 entitled Emergency Medical Services to accomplish <br /> the actions authorized in subsequent sections of this ordinance . <br /> Section 2: Authorization is hereby given to provide for the <br /> creation and development of emergency medical services for the <br /> City of Everett, including salaries , benefits , supplies and <br /> acquisition of emergency vehicles and other pertinent medical <br /> equipment. <br /> Section 3: The Medical Coordinator of the City of Everett under <br /> the supervision of the Fire Chief is hereby given the responsi- <br /> bility of providing for the administration of the services as <br /> defined herein. <br />
