• • ORDINANCE NO. ise- AN ORDINANCE creating a special construction fund entitled "Design and Construction of Fire station #6 - Fund. No. 352" and authorizing the design and construction of a satellite fire station at 9520 Evergreen Way. WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve the fire fighting system as required to assure the safety and orderly growth of the City; and WHEREAS, the community fire needs study entitled "Fire Demand Zones" conducted by Public Technology Incorporated identified the need for Fire Station #6 in the south portion of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved a fire response time for the south area of the City be brought in line with other City areas; and WHEREAS, the City council approved the purchase of property in the 9500 block of Evergreen Way as a site for construction of Fire Station #6 in September, 1980; and WHEREAS, the City Council has contracted with Gary Parkinson, Architect, to perform architectural services on the project and has paid $19, 727.08 to date for these services; and WHEREAS, the City has contracted the site survey to Paragon Surveying for $600.00; and WHEREAS, equipment for the fire station has been purchased for $2,972.44; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund No. 352 entitled "Fire Station #6 Cosntruction Fund" to accomplish the actions authorized in subsequent sections of this ordinance. Section 2: Authorization is hereby given to provide for the design and construction of Fire Station #6 to the following general specifications: A. Two bay equipment garage. B. Six bed sleep-in fire station. C. Firefighting equipment. D. Police reporting station. E. Site improvements for fire, police, utility service equipment and supplies. F. Necessary right-of-way improvements. G. Miscellaneous support spaces, equipment, and systems.
