• 4 • • • • 4 • • 1 1. Planning and budgeting for Emergency Aid Cars (EAC) to be strategically located within the City and to be equipped as 2 required by this ordinance. 3 2. Planning and budgeting so that each in-service pumper within the City is equipped as an emergency aid vehicle, in 4 addition to necessary fire suppression equipment, as required by this ordinance and as recommended by the 5 Emergency Services Advisory Committee. 6 3. Developing a response pattern within the City which maximizes the use of the Emergency Aid Cars and 7 minimizes initial response time in a coordinated manner using the EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers. 8 4. The EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers shall be utilized to 9 provide emergency medical care at the scene of injury or illness and may provide transportation of the sick and 10 injured. 11 SECTION 3: Section 14 of Ordinance No. 570-78 as amended by Section 3 of 12 Ordinance No. 781-81, which reads as follows: 13 14 Section 14: Ambulance Contract. 15 The Mayor, or his designee, shall negotiate an annual agreement with one or more ambulance companies. 16 17 is hereby amended to read as follows: 18 Section 14: Ambulance Contract. 19 The Mayor, or his designee, may negotiate an annual agreement with one 20 or more ambulance companies. 21 SECTION 4: If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or 22 Ordinance No. 570-80 should be held invalid or unconstitutional, the invalidity or 23 unconstitutionality thereof shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other 24 section, sentence, clause or phrase. 25 26 ,/ _ tide", < : 27 MAYOR AT�;� 28 1110 / I I, CITY CLERK 29 30 Passed: -,3- 8a Valid: c:5---cf 2--- 31 Published: 32 -3-
