1 SECTION 2: Section 13 of Ordinance No. 570-78 as amended by Section 2 of <br /> 2 Ordinance No. 781-81, which reads as follows: <br /> 3 <br /> Section 13: Emergency Medical Response. <br /> 4 <br /> The Fire Department of the City of Everett should respond to requests for <br /> 5 medical aid within the City, and provide such service to persons within <br /> the City as required. <br /> 6 <br /> A. To accomplish the intent of this section, the Mayor shall annually <br /> 7 prepare a budget for emergency medical aid response. <br /> 8 B. The Mayor shall develop a plan that may include recommendation <br /> of the Emergency Services Advisory Committee, to provide for an <br /> 9 emergency medical aid response program by: <br /> 10 1. Planning and budgeting for Emergency Aid Cars (EAC) to be <br /> strategically located within the City and to be equipped as <br /> 11 required by this ordinance. <br /> 12 2. Planning and budgeting so that each in-service pumper <br /> within the City is equipped as an emergency aid vehicle, in <br /> 13 addition to necessary fire suppression equipment, as <br /> required by this ordinance and as recommended by the <br /> 14 Emergency Services Advisory Committee. <br /> 15 3. Developing a response pattern within the City which <br /> maximizes the use of the Emergency Aid Cars and <br /> 16 minimizes initial response time in a coordinated manner <br /> using the EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers. <br /> 17 <br /> 4. The EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers shall be utilized to <br /> 18 provide emergency medical care at the scene of injury or <br /> illness, and may provide transportation of the sick and <br /> 19 injured as outlined in Section 13(B)(5). <br /> 20 5. The EAC may transport sick and injured when: <br /> 21 a. In the judgment of the officer in charge, he <br /> determines transport must be immediate in a life <br /> 22 support situation and the ambulance is unavailable <br /> within a reasonable time. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 25 Section 13: Emergency Medical Response. <br /> 26 The Fire Department of the City of Everett should respond to requests for <br /> 27 medical aid within the City, and provide such service to persons within <br /> the City as required. <br /> 28 A.
