f r <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. 2 '/- $/ <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 12, 13 and 14 of Ordinance No. <br /> 3 570-78 removing the specific contractual requirements and refer- <br /> ences made thereto. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 570-78 which regulates <br /> 6 <br /> ambulances and first aid services; and <br /> 7 <br /> WHEREAS, there is language set forth therein which requires the City to <br /> 8 <br /> contract with one or more ambulance companies annually to provide specified services; <br /> 9 <br /> and <br /> 10 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council feels that it would be in the best interest of the <br /> 11 <br /> City and the citizens thereof to eliminate the specifics of the contractual requirements <br /> 12 <br /> thereby allowing the City more latitude in setting the contractual criteria which it <br /> 13 <br /> deems appropriate under the circumstances; <br /> 14 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 15 <br /> Section 1: Section 12 of Ordinance No. 570-78 which reads as follows: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Section 12: Emergency Aid System. <br /> 18 A. There shall be an emergency aid system for emergency medical <br /> response to provide the least time response for patient emergency <br /> 19 aid and transportation, which shall consist of the following: <br /> 20 1. The 911 telephone access system. <br /> 21 2. Immediate notification of all requests for emergency <br /> medical aid received by the Fire Department to the ambu- <br /> 22 lance company and by the ambulance company to the Fire <br /> Department. <br /> 23 3. Ambulance company shall respond to 911 calls by dispatcher <br /> 24 order, based on certain criteria previously established or by <br /> request of Fire Department or Police Department. No <br /> 25 automatic response except as noted herein. Other responses <br /> by ambulance company will only be through direct citizen <br /> 26 request. <br /> 27 4. Immediate notification by the first arriving unit whether or <br /> not the additional units responding are required. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 30 Section 12: Emergency Aid System. <br /> 31 A. There shall be an emergency aid system for emergency medical <br /> 32 response to provide the least time response for patient emergency <br /> aid and transportation, which shall consist of the following: <br />
