a <br /> 1 A. To accomplish the intent of this section, the Mayor shall annually <br /> prepare a budget for emergency medical aid response. <br /> 2 <br /> B. The Mayor shall develop a plan that may include recommendation <br /> 3 of the Emergency Services Advisory Committee, to provide for an <br /> emergency medical aid response program by: <br /> 4 <br /> 1. Planning and budgeting for Emergency Aid Cars (EAC) to be <br /> 5 strategically located within the City and to be equipped as <br /> required by this ordinance. <br /> 6 2. Planning and budgeting so that each in-service pumper <br /> 7 within the City is equipped as an emergency aid vehicle, in <br /> addition to necessary fire suppression equipment, as re- <br /> 8 quired by this ordinance and as recommended by the <br /> Emergency Services Advisory Committee. <br /> 9 3. Developing a response pattern within the City which maxi- <br /> 10 mizes the use of the Emergency Aid Cars and minimizes <br /> initial response time in a coordinated manner using the EAC <br /> 11 vehicles and the fire pumpers. <br /> 12 4. The EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers shall be utilized to <br /> provide emergency medical care at the scene of injury or <br /> 13 illness, and may provide transportation of the sick and <br /> injured as outlined in Section 13(B)(5). <br /> 14 5. The EAC may transport sick and injured when: <br /> 15 a. In the judgment of the officer in charge, he deter- <br /> mines16 transport must be immediate in a life support <br /> situation and the ambulance is unavailable within a <br /> reasonable time. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Section 3: Section 14 of Ordinance No. 570-78 which reads as follows: <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Section 14: Ambulance Contract. <br /> 21 A. The City Council recognizes that this ordinance places additional <br /> responsibilities on any ambulance company operating within the <br /> 22 City to comply with all the requirements of this ordinance. The <br /> License Officer, or his designee, shall annually negotiate an agree- <br /> ment23 with one or more ambulance company to cover the ambulance <br /> company for the following expenses. <br /> 24 1. The transportation of all persons, where transportation was <br /> specifically requested by an employee or officer of the City <br /> 25 of Everett, and where the bill is uncollectable. <br /> 26 2. The additional costs incurred by the ambulance company <br /> which are specifically related to the Alert System and for <br /> 27 which the ambulance company is not otherwise reimbursed. <br /> 28 3. When, under the provisions of Section 13, an Everett <br /> Emergency Aid Car transports a person or persons, the <br /> 29 licensed ambulance company serving the same geographical <br /> area shall be reimbursed by the City of Everett as if the <br /> 30 licensed ambulance company had transported the person or <br /> persons. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />
