• <br /> 1 <br /> 2 A. Any employee whose base salary under a previous schedule is greater than <br /> the base salary provided in the schedule contained in this ordinance, shall <br /> 3 continue to receive the previous base pay; provided, however, that an <br /> 4 employee working in a classification designated to be in a salary range <br /> prefaced by range letter "E" shall continue to receive the previous base <br /> 5 <br /> salary if the Mayor has not set a new salary range within the limits of the <br /> 6 appropriate new "E" classification range as provided in this ordinance. <br /> 7 <br /> B. Range numbers prefaced by "A", "B", and "C" are considered to be <br /> 8 <br /> monthly rates payable pursuant to applicable collective bargaining <br /> 9 agreements. <br /> 10 <br /> C. Range numbers prefaced by "E" are considered to be the minimum and <br /> 11 <br /> maximum salary ranges within which the Mayor may set the salary to be <br /> 12 paid to appointed employees. <br /> 13 <br /> D. Range numbers prefaced by "H" are to be considered as hourly rates <br /> 14 payable pursuant to applicable collective bargaining agreements. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 E. Range numbers prefaced by "P" are established by City Council in <br /> accordance with the City Charter. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Section 4: <br /> 19 <br /> A. Seasonal day laborers employed by the City in the Recreation Department <br /> 20 will be rated by their qualifications, experience and background, and type <br /> 21 and nature of duties to be performed and compensated at a minimum of no <br /> 22 less than $2.90 per hour, and a maximum of no more than $5.00 per hour. <br /> These employees employed in the Recreation Department are exempt <br /> 23 from minimum wage, equal pay and overtime pay if they are employed <br /> 24 less than seven months in any calendar year pursuant to Section 13 (a), (b) <br /> 25 of the Fair Labor Standards Act as amended April 8, 1974. <br /> 26 B. Day Laborers employed by the City in all other City Departments will be <br /> 27 rated by their qualifications, experience and background, and compensated <br /> 28 at a minimum of no less than $2.90 per hour and a maximum of no more <br /> than $5.00 per hour except when Article VIII, Section 4 of the AFSCME <br /> 29 Local 113 Agreement applies. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
