Upon promotion, the employee's current appointment date for future <br /> 2 step pay increases will become the date upon which the promotion became effective. <br /> 3 Section 11: <br /> 4 <br /> Upon demotion, an employee shall be paid either at the step in the lower pay range <br /> 5 which is the amount equal to the step he had been at in the higher classification or at <br /> 6 the highest step of the lower classification if all of the steps of the lower range are <br /> 7 below the step the employee has been at in the higher classification. <br /> 8 Section 12: <br /> 9 All persons, other than those in the pay range prefaced "H" who are paid on an hourly <br /> 10 basis as hereinafter or herein set forth shall be considered and by day laborers as <br /> defined by the City Charter governing Civil Service. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Section 13: <br /> 13 Pursuant to the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973, and as may be <br /> 14 amended, hereinafter referred to as "CETA", the Mayor is hereby authorized to hire <br /> such employees in accordance with the terms of the Comprehensive Employment and <br /> 15 <br /> Training Act and such agreements as the Mayor, pursuant to his/her prior <br /> 16 authorization to contract for employees under the Comprehensive Employment and <br /> 17 Training Act may enter. <br /> 18 All CETA employees shall be paid in accordance with the above salalry schedule and <br /> 19 their job title shall be prefaced by the symbol CETA. <br /> 20 Section 14: <br /> 21 <br /> Any and all ordinance in conflict herewith of the City of Everett and all amendments <br /> 22 thereto be and the same, are hereby repealed. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 <br /> 25 William E.
