Any employee whose base salary under a previous schedule is greater than the base salary provided in the schedule contained in this ordinance shall 25 continue to receive the previous base pay; provided, however, that an employee working in a classification designated to be in a salary range 26 prefaced by range letter "E" shall continue to receive the previous base salary if the Mayor has not set a new salary range within the limits of the 27 appropriate new "E" classification range as provided in this ordinance. 28 B.
