Ranges prefaced by "P" are established by the City Council in accordance <br /> with the City Charter of Everett. <br /> 2 <br /> D. Range numbers prefaced by "E" are considered to be the minimum and <br /> 3 maximum salary ranges within which the Mayor may set the salary to be <br /> paid to appointed employees. <br /> 4 <br /> Section 4: <br /> 5 <br /> A. Seasonal day laborers employed by the City in the Recreation Division of <br /> 6 the Parks and Recreation Department will be rated by their qualifications, <br /> experience and background, and type and nature of duties to be performed <br /> 7 and compensated at a minimum of no less than the current federal <br /> minimum wage and a maximum of no more than $6.50 per hour. These <br /> 8 employees are exempt from minimum wage, equal pay and overtime pay if <br /> they are employed less than seven months in any calendar year pursuant to <br /> 9 Section 13 (a), (b), of the Fair Labor Standards Act as amended April 8, <br /> 1974. <br /> 10 <br /> B. Day laborers employed by the City in all other City departments will be <br /> 11 rated by their qualifications, experience and background, and compensated <br /> at a minimum of no less than the current federal minimum wage per <br /> 12 prevailing negotiated union contract when Article VIII, Section 4 of the <br /> AFSCME Local 113 agreement applies. <br /> 13 <br /> C. The Mayor and/or his designee together with each Department Head <br /> 14 employing day laborers shall establish the rate of pay; therefore, within the <br /> minimum and maximum rate based on the qualifications, experience and <br /> 15 background of each day laborer employee. <br /> 16 D. In the case of Library day laborer employees, the Library Board together <br /> with the Library Director shall establish the rate of pay; therefore, within <br /> 17 the minimum of the current federal minimum wage and a maximum rate of <br /> $6.50 per hour based on the qualifications, experience and background of <br /> 18 each day laborer employee. <br /> 19 E. The administrative salary codes for day laborers will be as follows: <br /> 20 010 Day Laborer/Administration <br /> 015 Day Laborer/Other <br /> 21 020 Day Laborer/Personnel <br /> 025 Day Laborer/Work Study <br /> 22 030 Day Laborer/Police <br /> 040 Day Laborer/Senior Center <br /> 23 050 Day Laborer/Public Works <br /> 055 Day Laborer/Transit <br /> 24 060 Day Laborer/City Clerk <br /> 070 Day Laborer/Animal Shelter <br /> 25 080 Day Laborer/Library <br /> 090 Day Laborer/Park (Maintenance) <br /> 26 095 Day Laborer/Parks (Recreation) <br /> Section 5: <br /> 27 A. There is hereby adopted as part of this salary schedule, longevity pay for <br /> 28 those employees who are covered under AFSCME, Local 113, Everett <br /> Firefighters, Local 350, Everett Police Officers Association, and the <br /> 29 Snohomish County Building and Construction Trades Council per their <br /> respective collective bargaining agreements. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
