NFC (Near Field Communication) <br /> contactless technology will allow for the payment acceptance from mobile wallets as <br /> they develop. Cardholder data is more secured on a chip-embedded card that utilizes <br /> dynamic authentication, rather than on a static mag-stripe card. Unlike a mag-stripe card <br /> that can be copied ("skimmed"), chip technology combats counterfeiting by assigning a <br /> dynamic value for each transaction. It is important to note that EMV helps authenticate <br /> the cardholder, and therefore reduces the fraud associated with purchases made with <br /> counterfeit cards at a physical point of sale. <br /> The VeriFone VX520 is an all-in-one countertop device featuring an internal PIN pad, <br /> and can be handed to the cardholder for PIN entry. For merchants that prefer <br /> configuration that includes a cardholder facing card reader and PIN pad, the VeriFone <br /> VX 820 can be connected to the VeriFone VX520 as a peripheral device for cardholder <br /> input.
