TRENT
DEVELOPMENT
7 August 2018
Attention: City Council of Everett
Sent via email to:
council@everettwa.gov
metro@everettwa.gov
Re: Prohibition of Additional Social Service Facilities in Downtown Everett
My name is Trent Mummery, and I am a real estate developer in the Puget Sound region. I have extensive
experience developing mixed use multifamily apartment and condominium projects. In the past seven years I
have developed 4 projects on Capital Hill in Seattle and two projects in Shoreline. I am currently planning two
additional 200+unit projects in Shoreline, one of which will break ground next year.
I recently began sourcing land for multifamily development projects in the core area of Everett. I believe in the
fundamentals of this City and anticipate the area will experience additional near-term growth, and would
therefore benefit from the development of new, modern housing stock.
I understand that the Council is considering zoning or use changes that would prohibit the opening or operation
of certain Social Service Facilities in the downtown core area. I strongly recommend that Council consider
adopting such a prohibition. My research of this area finds that there are already a number of such facilities,
and I fear that if more are opened, it will have a detrimental impact on the character of the downtown core, thus
making it difficult convincing new corners to relocate to this area.
I thank you for your attention to this mater.
Sincerely,
sent via email without signature
Trent Mummery
1420 Fifth Avenue, Suite 2200 Seattle, WA I 206.234.6543 I ONETRENT.COM
