to continue operating in this location. So, its rights to operate in this space within the B-
3 zone should, in equity, be transferred to Ideal Option. This maintains the purpose of
Ordinance 3598-18 by preventing any increase in the number of clinics in the B-3 zone,
but also allows for the valuable service provided by Ideal Option to be available to those
who need it. To put it plainly, allowing Ideal Option to open its larger location will not
increase the number of clinics in the B-3 zone as of the effective date of Ordinance 3598-
18. Ideal Option is simply seeking to take the place of an existing clinic.
IDEAL OPTION's COMMITMENT TO EVERETT:
Founded by emergency room physicians, who regularly saw the ravages of addiction up
close and personal, Ideal Option was and is the product of a deep commitment to conquer
the opioid epidemic. With expanded clinic space, Ideal Option will help insure that
Everett's citizens have immediate access to effective treatment at a time when demand is
growing and the opioid crisis continues to ravage families, neighborhoods, and deplete
the economic and social resources of cities.
Our clinics are safe, inconspicuous and not associated with crime of any sort. To allay
concerns about our presence in the metro area, we are willing to employ an off-duty
Everett Police Officer at the 2808 Hoyt location during business hours. We are confident
our presence at 2808 will enhance public safety while increasing life-saving treatment for
those who currently do not have access.
For the above reasons, we respectfully request that Ideal Option's grandfathered status,
both as to the moratorium and Subarea Plan, be officially recognized. In the alternative,
we request that the clinic be exempt from, or granted an exception to, both the
moratorium put into effect by Ordinance 3598-18 and the forthcoming Subarea Plan,
thereby be authorized Ideal Option to open its clinic doors at its already leased and ready-
for-business facility within the B-3 zone.
We greatly appreciate the time taken by the Council to consider this important issue.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Allgaier, M.D.
Found-r, Co-0 wirOrattiQl Option Chief Executive Officer
Kenneth Egli, M.D.
Co-Owner and deal Option Medical Director
..0401f,erjD
