EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF WORK PROJECT OVERVIEW The City of Everett has requested that CG Engineering provide professional structural engineering services for two projects at Reservoir#3,which is located at 6003 Evergreen Way in Everett,Washington. The first project involves the design of a new Ianding platform inside the valve vault,which has deteriorated and requires replacement.The existing platform is wood-framed and supported on existing concrete walls of the vault and steel beams that are bolted to the vault walls.The replacement platform will likely be framed with stainless steel, aluminum,or fiberglass framing. A new fixed ladder will also be installed with a new access hatch at the landing platform.CG Engineering will provide structural construction documents for the new platform and ladder. The second project involves the structural evaluation of the reservoir's concrete lid,which is exhibiting cracking at the joints and some spalling at the top of the perimeter walls.CG Engineering will provide a structural evaluation report with recommendations for future repair or replacement. Project 1 —Valve Vault Landing Platform Replacement Estimated Fee: $20,830.00 Project 2—Reservoir Lid Evaluation Estimated Fee: $8,360.00 20%Contingency(City Project Manager's Authorization Required) Estimated Fee: $5,838.00 Total Estimated Fee Not to Exceed: $35,028.00 PROJECT 1 —VALVE VAULT LANDING PLATFORM REPLACEMENT CG Engineering will provide structural calculations and drawings for a new steel platform to replace the existing wood and steel landing platform inside the existing concrete vault structure. Task 1 —Project Management CG Engineering will manage all aspects of the structural scope,schedule and budget.Project management services include. 1.1 Correspondence and coordination with City project manager and staff 1.2 CG Engineering staff management 1.3 Attend design kick-off meeting with City staff Assumptions • City will take the lead of overall project management. Deliverables • Email progress updates and coordination with City staff. Task 2—Data Collection and Field Investigation CG Engineering will evaluate existing conditions and collect data of the vault. 2.1 Review available existing records for the vault and landing platform. 2.2 Conduct(1)site visit with City staff to evaluate the as-built conditions of the existing vault. 2.3 Organize data collected in the field to be used in design. Assumptions • City will provide us with available drawings and information. • City will coordinate and schedule site visit access to the vault. • We have assumed CG Engineering staff will be allowed inside the vault.
