• 1 (3) Uniform Fire Code, 1979 Edition, together with Appendices A, B, C, D, E and F and related standards, 1979 Edition, published by the 2 International Conference of Building Officials and Western Fire Chiefs Association. 3 (4) Uniform Plumbing Code, 1979 Edition, excluding Chapters 11, 12 & 4 13 together with Appendices A, B, C, D, E, G and published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials: 5 provided, that notwithstanding any wording in this code, nothing in this code shall apply to the installation of gas piping, water 6 heaters, or vents for water heaters. 7 Section 4: The National Electrical Code, 1978 Edition, published by the 8 National Fire Protection Association; The Department of Labor and Industries, Rules 9 and Regulations for installing electrical wires and equipment and Administrative Rules, 10 March 6, 1978; The Department of Labor and Industries Electrical Installation Law, 11 September 4, 1975; The Department of Labor and Industries Rules for Electrical 12 Construction, revised September 1965; The Department of Labor and Industries Rules 13 and Regulations for mobile homes, commercial coaches and recreational vehicles, 14 revised January 1, 1972; and The Department of Labor and Industries Electrical 15 Construction Code, December 1, 1964, are hereby adopted by reference. 16 Section 5: This ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Building Code." It 17 will hereinafter be referred to as "this code." 18 Section 6: RCW 19.27.060, Section 4, as it pertains to the City of Everett is 19 not adopted by reference and is expressly deleted. 20 Section 7: Creation of the Building Department. There is hereby established, 21 in the City of Everett, the Building Department, which shall be under the jurisdiction of 22 the Building Official, designated by the Mayor. The Building Official shall have the 23 powers and duties as herein set forth and as set forth in the Model Codes herein adopted 24 by reference. 25 Section 8: If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or 26 circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the 27 provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected. 28 Section 9: Three copies of this ordinance shall be filed and maintained by the 29 City Clerk for use and examination by the public. 30 31 32 -2-
