• • 1 "Grounded Conductor Not Insulated. Type SE service-entrance cables without individual insulation on the grounded circuit conductor shall not 2 be used as a branch circuit or as a feeder within a building." 3 "Service-entrance cable shall be permitted for interior use, not over 70 Amps, where the fully insulated conductors are used for circuit wiring and 4 the uninsulated conductor is used for equipment grounding purposes." 5 Section 40: Section 47 of Ordinance No. 531-78 is hereby amended by deleting 6 the following: 7 8 Section 47. That Section WAC 296-46-150 of the Department of Labor and Industries Rules and Regulations for installing electric wires and 9 equipment and Administrative Rules as herein adopted be and is hereby amended by adding a new Subsection (4): 10 "Regardless of any other provisions in this Chapter, all buildings except 11 for residential occupancy, shall be wired in only approved metallic raceways." 12 13 and inserting in its place: 14 Section 47. That Section WAC 296-46-150 of the Department of Labor 15 and Industries Rules and Regulations for installing electric wires and equipment and Administrative Rules as herein adopted be and is hereby 16 amended by adding a new Subsection (4): 17 "Regardless of any other provisions in this Chapter, all buildings except for residential occupancy, shall be wired in only approved metallic 18 raceways. Flexible metal conduit shall not be considered an approved metallic raceway for the purposes of this section." 19 20 Section 41: Section WAC 296-46-180 of the Department of Labor and Industries 21 Rules and Regulations for installing electric wires and equipment and Administrative 22 Rules as herein adopted is hereby amended as follows: 23 a. "Service Equipment Location. Except as otherwise permitted by 24 the Building Official, all service equipment, including switches, gutters and subfeed switches, shall be located not more than seven (7) feet, nor less than three (3) feet from the floor or permanent 25 working platforms." 26 b. "Meter Location. Except as otherwise permitted by the serving 27 utility, meter height shall not be more than seven (7) feet or less than five (5) feet above finished grade or floor below the meter. 28 The center of the meter shall be the point of reference." 29 Section 42: There is hereby added a new sectixl to Article 90 of the National 30 Electrical Code entitled Violation and Penalties. 31 32 -23-
