These comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the (2012 International Building Code,) (2012 International Residential Code,) as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 2012 Edition, and adopted by the City of Everett, unless stated otherwise. In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the corrections requested. 1. Structures located less than 5 feet from the property line are required to be one-hour fire-resistive construction with protection from both sides. Provide details for one-hour fire-resistive assembly. Show location on plans. 2. Where supported by attachment to an exterior wall, decks shall be positively anchored to the primary structure and designed for both vertical and lateral loads. Such attachment shall not be accomplished by the use of toenails or nails subject to withdrawal. 3. Provide lateral connection detail per section R507.2 and show where on the deck the lateral anchors will be installed. 4.
