. • 1 ORDINANCE NO. U,l-�4> } O 2 AN ORDINANCE establishing special charges for connection to the City 3 of Everett sewer system. 4 5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that each additional 6 connection to the City of Everett sewer system impacts the sewer system with 7 additional loads all of which will require future reconstruction and improvement of the 8 system; and 9 WHEREAS, under RCW 35.92.025, the City Council may charge a connection 10 charge to property owners seeking to connect to the sewer system in such amount as the 11 Council may determine in order that said property owners shall bear their equitable 12 share of the cost of such system; and 13 WHEREAS, after due deliberation at public meetings, the Council finds that 14 single family residences connected to the Everett public sewer system since October, 15 1959, have paid over $500 in sewer service charges under Ordinance No. 3731, and 16 subsequent amendments, and related ordinances, and that the connection charges 17 established herein reasonably relate to the equitable share of the cost of the sewer 18 system to be borne by new single family residence connections to the system, provided 19 that said connection charges do not exceed sewer system development fees established 20 under other ordinances of the City; and 21 WHEREAS, after due deliberation at public meetings, the Council finds that 22 duplexes, triplexes, and fourplexes connected to the Everett public sewer system since 23 October, 1959, have paid over $850, $1,200 and $1,575, respectively, and that the 24 connection charges established herein reasonably relate to the equitable share of the 25 cost of the sewer system to be borne by new duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes to be 26 connected to the system, provided that said connection charges do not exceed sewer 27 system development fees and charges established under other ordinances of the City; 28 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 29 30 31 32
