79/ 2 5-3 `f 1 ORDINANCE NO.cop,,,-97 2 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 527-78 to extend the 3 repayment period from five (5) years to ten (10) years, and approving and confirming the assessment and assessment roll of Local 4 Improvement District No. 700 for the improvement of the 500 Block between Colby Avenue and Wetmore Avenue by the construction of a 5 paved alley way, storm drainage improvements, and doing all such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith to make a 6 complete improvement, all in accordance with Ordinance No. 527-78 of the City of Everett, levying an assessment on account thereof 7 against the several lots, tracts, and parcels or other property shown on said roll, and providing for the sale of bonds or installment notes. 8 9 10 WHEREAS, the assessment roll levying the special assessments against properties 11 located in Local Improvement District No. 700 in the City of Everett, Washington, 12 created under Ordinance No. 527-78 has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of 13 Everett, Washington, as provided by law; and 14 WHEREAS, notice of the time and place of hearing thereon and of making 15 objections and protests to said roll was duly published at and for the time and in the 16 manner provided by law and further notice thereof was duly mailed by the City Clerk to 17 each property owner shown on said roll; and 18 WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed and designated in said notice the hearing 19 was duly held and no written protests were received and all questions concerning said 20 roll being resolved at said hearing, and the City Council being fully advised in the 21 premises; and 22 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 23 Section 1: Section 7 of Ordinance No. 527-78 which reads as follows: 24 Section 7: The costs and expenses of such improvement shall be 25 defrayed by special assessment payable in five (5) equal installments with interest, under the mode of payment by bonds or installment notes as 26 provided by law and the ordinances of the City of Everett. Bonds or installment notes bearing interest payable on or before seven (7) years 27 from date of issue shall be issued in payment of the costs and expenses of such improvement or the City of Everett may, at its election, sell said 28 bonds or installment notes and make payments in cash in the manner provided by ordinance of said City. 29 is hereby amended to read: 30 31 32
