1 ORDIN_ANCE P10. 49 ` / j <br /> 2 <br /> 3 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 531-78 , the <br /> Everett Building Code, deleting Sections 2320 <br /> 4 and 2321 from page 23 of Ordinance No. 531-78 and <br /> adding a portion of Section 2322 and all of <br /> 5 Section 2323 to page 23 of Ordinance No. 531-78 . <br /> 6 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 531-78 was adopted without Sections <br /> 7 2322 and 2323; and <br /> 8 WHEREAS, Sections 2322 and 2323 were intended to be included <br /> 9 in Ordinance No. 531-78 but were not included in Ordinance No. <br /> 10 531-78 as a result of duplicate pages submitted to Council for <br /> 11 adoption; and <br /> 12 WHEREAS , the City Council desires these deleted sections to <br /> 13 be included in Ordinance No. 531-78; <br /> 14 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 15 Section 1 : Page 23 of Ordinance No. 531-78 which reads as <br /> follows : <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Section 2320 - Existing Venting Systems <br /> 18 (a) An existing venting system shall not be connected to a <br /> replaced water heater unless the venting system com- <br /> 19 plies with all the following requirements : <br /> 20 1 . The venting system shall have been lawfully in- <br /> stalled in compliance with the Code in effect at <br /> 21 the time of its installation and shall be in a <br /> safe condition. <br /> 22 2 . The internal area of the venting system shall coml. <br /> 23 with Section 2318 . <br /> 24 3. The venting system shall be connected to the water <br /> heater in a safe manner. <br /> 25 Section 2321 - Draft Hoods <br /> 26 Every water heater draft hood shall be located in the same room <br /> 27 or space as the combustion air opening of the water heater. <br /> 28 Every draft hood shall be installed in the position for which it <br /> was designed and shall be located so that the draft hood relief <br /> 29 opening is not less than six inches (6" ) from any surface other <br /> than the water heater is serves, measured in a direction 90 30 de- <br /> grees to the plane of the relief opening. When a greater clear- <br /> ance is indicated by the water heater approval, as shown on the <br /> 31 water heater label, this greater clearance shall be provided. <br /> 32 <br />
