1 Section 2323 - Chimney Connectors <br /> 2 (a) Materials : Chimney connectors shall be constructed of <br /> single wall metal conforming with Subsection (b) of <br /> 3 this Section or of other materials approved for the use <br /> intended. <br /> 4 <br /> (b) Single Wall Steel: Chimney connectors made of single <br /> 5 wall steel pipe and serving low-heat appliances shall <br /> be of not less than the following gauges : <br /> 6 <br /> Diameter of Connector Galvanized <br /> 7 (in inches) Sheet Gauge No. <br /> 8 5 or less 28 <br /> Over 5 to 9 26 <br /> 9 Over 9 to 12 22 <br /> Over 12 to 16 20 <br /> 10 Over 16 16 <br /> 11 (c) Installation: <br /> 12 1. Two or more chimney connectors shall not be joined <br /> unless the common connector, the manifold and the <br /> 13 chimney are sized properly to serve the appliances <br /> connected thereto and adequate draft is available <br /> 14 to remove all products of combustion to the outdoor . . <br /> 15 Connectors serving gravity vent-type water heaters <br /> shall not be connected to a venting system served <br /> 16 by a power exhauster unless the connection is made <br /> on the negative pressure side of the power exhauste . <br /> 17 2.
