• <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. 4-70.. 77 <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing standards and training to regulate <br /> 3 ambulance and certain emergency first aid services and transportation <br /> and repealing Ordinance Nos. 491-77, 433-77, Chapter 18 of Ordinance <br /> 4 No. 295-74 and all other ordinances in conflict herewith. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Everett to establish standards <br /> 7 and training and to regulate ambulance and certain emergency first aid services and <br /> 8 transportation within its corporate limits; <br /> 9 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 10 <br /> Section Title <br /> 11 <br /> 1 Definitions <br /> 12 2 Licenses Required <br /> 3 Required Equipment <br /> 13 4 Standards for Operator's License - Insurance <br /> 5 License Officer <br /> 14 6 Emergency Services Advisory Committee <br /> 7 Standards for Licenses - EMT, etc. <br /> 15 8 Expiration and Renewal of License <br /> 9 Revocation of License <br /> 16 10 Reports <br /> 11 City Emergency Medical Services Director <br /> 17 12 Emergency Aid System <br /> 13 Emergency Medical Response <br /> 18 14 Ambulance Contract <br /> 15 Training <br /> 19 16 Penalties <br /> 17 Severability <br /> 20 18 General Duty <br /> 19 Repealing <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Section 1: Definitions. <br /> 23 A. Ambulance shall mean any privately or publicly owned vehicle that is <br /> 24 equipped and used for transporting any sick or injured person from the scene of any <br /> 25 accident or disaster or emergency situation to or from a hospital clinic or other location <br /> 26 where professional medical care is available. The word "ambulance" may not be used, in <br /> 27 part or in its entirety, by any vehicle except as herein defined. <br /> 28 B. Emergency Aid Car shall mean any publicly owned and operated vehicle <br /> 29 that is equipped and may be used for transporting any sick or injured person from the <br /> 30 scene of any accident or disaster or emergency situation to a hospital, clinic or other <br /> 31 location where professional medical care is available. <br /> 32 <br />
