• 1 ORDINANCE NO. 4-70.. 77 2 AN ORDINANCE establishing standards and training to regulate 3 ambulance and certain emergency first aid services and transportation and repealing Ordinance Nos. 491-77, 433-77, Chapter 18 of Ordinance 4 No. 295-74 and all other ordinances in conflict herewith. 5 6 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Everett to establish standards 7 and training and to regulate ambulance and certain emergency first aid services and 8 transportation within its corporate limits; 9 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 10 Section Title 11 1 Definitions 12 2 Licenses Required 3 Required Equipment 13 4 Standards for Operator's License - Insurance 5 License Officer 14 6 Emergency Services Advisory Committee 7 Standards for Licenses - EMT, etc. 15 8 Expiration and Renewal of License 9 Revocation of License 16 10 Reports 11 City Emergency Medical Services Director 17 12 Emergency Aid System 13 Emergency Medical Response 18 14 Ambulance Contract 15 Training 19 16 Penalties 17 Severability 20 18 General Duty 19 Repealing 21 22 Section 1: Definitions. 23 A. Ambulance shall mean any privately or publicly owned vehicle that is 24 equipped and used for transporting any sick or injured person from the scene of any 25 accident or disaster or emergency situation to or from a hospital clinic or other location 26 where professional medical care is available. The word "ambulance" may not be used, in 27 part or in its entirety, by any vehicle except as herein defined. 28 B. Emergency Aid Car shall mean any publicly owned and operated vehicle 29 that is equipped and may be used for transporting any sick or injured person from the 30 scene of any accident or disaster or emergency situation to a hospital, clinic or other 31 location where professional medical care is available. 32
