• <br /> • <br /> • <br /> 1 c. NOISES EXEMPT DURING DAYTIME HOURS. The following noises <br /> 2 shall be exempt from the provisions of this ordinance between the hours of 7:00 a.m. <br /> 3 and 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on weekends: <br /> 4 1. Noise created by powered equipment used in temporary or <br /> 5 periodic maintenance or repair of residential property, including, but not <br /> 6 limited to, grounds and appurtenances such as lawn mowers, powered hand <br /> 7 tools, and composters. <br /> 8 2. Noise created by the discharge of firearms on authorized <br /> 9 shooting ranges. <br /> 10 3. Noise created by the installation or repair of essential <br /> 11 utility services. <br /> 12 4. Noise created by blasting. <br /> 13 5. Noise created by bells, chimes, or carillons not operating for <br /> 14 more than five minutes in any one hour. <br /> 15 6. Noise originating from forest harvesting and silvicultural <br /> 16 activity. <br /> 17 d. NOISES EXEMPT FROM NIGHTTIME REDUCTION. The following <br /> 18 noises are exempt from the provisions of Section 3 (c) (1): <br /> 19 1. Noise created by existing stationary equipment used in the <br /> 20 conveyance of water by a utility and noise created by existing electrical <br /> 21 substations. <br /> 22 2. Noise created by sources in industrial districts which exceed <br /> 23 the standards contained in these regulations and which over the previous <br /> 24 three years, have consistently operated in excess of fifteen hours per day <br /> 25 as a demonstrated routine or as a consequence of process necessity. No <br /> 26 changes which would increase the noise emitted under this exemption shall <br /> 27 be permitted without approval of the Administrator. Changes in working <br /> 28 hours which would affect exemptions under this regulation require <br /> 29 approval of the Administrator. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Page -10- <br />
