• • 1 8. Noise created by motor vehicles when regulated by Section 4 2 of this ordinance. 3 9. Noise caused by natural phenomena and unamplified human 4 voices. 5 10. Noise created by motor vehicles, licensed or unlicensed, 6 when operated off public highways except when such sounds are received 7 in District I of the City of Everett. 8 11. Noise originating from existing natural gas transmission 9 facilities until such time as the State sets regulations governing said 10 facilities. 11 b. The following sources of noise are exempt or partially exempt from the 12 provisions of this ordinance: 13 1. Noise created by the operation of equipment or facilities of 14 surface carriers engaged in commerce by railroad. 15 2. Noise created by watercraft and float planes. 16 3. Noise emanating from the temporary construction sites 17 except between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on weekdays and 18 10:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. on weekends if the receiving property is located 19 in District I of the City of Everett. 20 4. Noise emanating from marine-oriented construction sites 21 except between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and 22 weekends if the receiving property is located in District I of the City of 23 Everett. 24 5. Noise created by aircraft engine testing and maintenance 25 not related to flight operations. 26 6. Noise originating from motor vehicle racing events at 27 existing authorized facilities. 28 It is the intention of the City Council to consider amendments to this ordinance 29 controlling the sources exempted in Section 6 (b) above after the State Department of 30 Ecology promulgates specific regulations relating to these sources in the future. 31 32 Page -9-
