1 and inserting in its place: 2 Section 20.2 - Duties and Powers of the Administrative Authority 3 (a) The Building Official, with the approval of the chief appointing authority, may appoint such assistants, deputies, inspectors or 4 other employees as are authorized to carry out the functions of the department and this Code. 5 Right of Entry 6 (b) Whenever necessary to make an inspection to enforce any 7 provision of this ordinance, the Building Official or his authorized representative may enter any building or premises 8 as prescribed in Ordinance 315.74. 9 Section 34. That Section 20.3, Part I, Administration, of the Uniform 10 Plumbing Code be, and is hereby amended by deleting: 11 "Violations and Penalties" - Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemenaor and upon 12 conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $300 or by imprisonment in the County Jail for not to exceed 90 days, or both fine 13 and imprisonment. Each separate day or any portion thereof during which any violation of this Code occurs or continues shall be deemed to 14 constitute a separate offense, and upon conviction there of shall be punishable as herein provided. The issuance or granting of a permit or 15 approval of plans and specifications shall not be deemed or construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of 16 this Code. No permit presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of this Code shall be valid, except insofar as the work or use 17 which it authorized is lawful. 18 The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of plans shall not prevent the Administrative Authority from thereafter requiring the correction of 19 errors in said plans and specifications or from preventing construction operations being carried on thereunder when in violation of this Code or of 20 any other ordinance or from revoking any certificate of approval when issued in error. 21 Every permit issued by the Administrative Authority under the provisions 22 of this Code shall expire by limitation and become null and void, if the work authorized by such permit is not commenced within one-hundred 23 twenty (120) days from date of issuance of such permit, or if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the 24 work is commenced for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days.
