• <br /> • <br /> 1 Section 42. That Chapter 12 of the Uniform Plumbing Code be, and is hereby <br /> 2 deleted in its entirety. <br /> 3 Section 43. The National Electrical Code, be, and is hereby amended by adding <br /> 4 a new Article 80 - Administrative. <br /> 5 80-1 EXISTING BUILDINGS. Buildings or structures to which additions, <br /> alterations, or repairs are made to electrical system, including any and all <br /> 6 electrical wires, services, equipment and apparatus are made shall comply <br /> with all the requirements for new work in buildings and structures as set <br /> 7 forth in this Ordinance except as specifically provided for in this Section. <br /> 8 (a) When additions, alterations, or repairs within a 12 month <br /> period exceed 50 percent of the existing system, such <br /> 9 system shall be made to conform to all of the requirements <br /> of this code. <br /> 10 <br /> (b) When additions, alterations, or repairs within a 12 month <br /> 11 period do not exceed 50 percent of the existing system, the <br /> entire system need not be made to comply with all of the <br /> 12 provisions of this code except that all new work shall be <br /> installed as set forth in this code. <br /> 13 <br /> (c) In the event of unsafe or hazardous wiring, Section 11 shall <br /> 14 take precedence. <br /> 15 80-2 MAINTENANCE. All electrical wires, equipment and apparatus <br /> shall be maintained in a safe condition. All devices and safeguards which <br /> 16 are required by this code in a building, sign or structure when erected, <br /> altered or repaired shall be maintained in a safe and good working order. <br /> 17 The owner or his agent shall be responsible for the maintenance of all such <br /> electrical wiring, equipment and apparatus. <br /> 18 <br /> 80-3 MOVED BUILDINGS. All electrical wires, equipment, or apparatus <br /> 19 within, or on, or attached thereto, which are moved within or into the <br /> City shall comply with the provisions of this Ordinance and all other <br /> 20 applicable laws, codes and ordinances. <br /> 21 80-4 ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY & ASSISTANTS. The Building <br /> Official is hereby authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of <br /> 22 this ordinance. For such purpose he shall have the powers of a police <br /> officer. In accordance with procedure and with the approval of the chief <br /> 23 appointing authority of the City, the Building Official may appoint such <br /> number of officers, inspectors, and assistants and other employees as may <br /> 24 be necessary to carry out the functions of this ordinance. <br /> 25 80-5 REPORTS AND RECORDS. The Building Official shall submit a <br /> report to the proper City official not less than once a year, covering the <br /> 26 work of the department during the preceding period. He shall incorporate <br /> in said report a summary of his recommendations as to desirable <br /> 27 amendments to this Code. <br /> 28 The Building Official shall keep a permanent, accurate account of all fees <br /> and other monies collected and received under this Code, the names of the <br /> 29 persons upon whose account the same were paid, the date and amount <br /> thereof, together with the location of the building or premises to which <br /> 30 they relate. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> - 37 - <br />
