<br /> 1 80-6 RIGHT OF ENTRY. Whenever necessary to make an inspection to
<br /> enforce any provision of this ordinance, the Building Official or his
<br /> 2 authorized representative may enter any building or premises as
<br /> prescribed in Ordinance 315-74.

<br /> 80-7 STOP ORDERS. Whenever any work is being done contrary to the
<br /> 4 provisions of this Ordinance, the Building Official may order the work
<br /> stopped by notice in writing served on any persons engaged in the doing or
<br /> 5 causing such work to be done and any such persons forthwith stop such
<br /> work until authorized by the Building Official to proceed with the work.

<br /> 80-8 LIABILITY. The Building Offical or any employee charged with the
<br /> 7 enforcement of this Ordinance, acting in good faith and without malice
<br /> for the City in the discharge of his duties, shall not thereby render himself
<br /> 8 liable personally and he is hereby relieved from all personal liability for
<br /> any damage that may accrue to persons or property as a result of any act
<br /> 9 required or by reason of any act or omission in the discharge of his duties.
<br /> Any suit brought against the Building Official or employee, because of
<br /> 10 such act or omission performed by him in the enforcement of any
<br /> provisions of this Code, shall be defended by the legal department of the
<br /> 11 City until final termination of the proceedings. This Ordinance is one of
<br /> general application and nothing herein is intended to create liability or
<br /> 12 cause action running in favor of individual members of the public.
<br /> 13 80-9 UNSAFE CONDITIONS. All electrical wires, equipment and
<br /> apparatus which are unsafe or not provided with adequate safeguards, of
<br /> 14 which constitute a fire hazard, or are otherwise dangerous to human life,
<br /> or which in relation to existing use constitute a hazard to safety or health,
<br /> 15 or public welfare, by reason of inadequate maintenance, obsolescense, fire
<br /> hazard, disaster damage, or abandonment, as specified in this Ordinance
<br /> 16 or any other effective ordinance, are, for the purpose of this Section,
<br /> considered unsafe conditions. All such unsafe conditions are hereby
<br /> 17 declared to be public nuisances and the owner or his agent must abate by
<br /> repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal in accordance with this
<br /> 18 Ordinance or by any other procedures provided by law.
<br /> 19 80-10 BOARD OF APPEALS. In order to determine the suitability of
<br /> alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide for
<br /> 20 reasonable interpretation of the provisions of this Code, there shall be and
<br /> is hereby a Board of Appeals, as created by Ordinance No. 351-75, to pass
<br /> 21 upon matters pertaining to building construction.
<br /> 22 80-11 VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES. It shall be unlawful for any
<br /> person, firm, or corporation to install, alter, or extend any electrical
<br /> 23 equipment in the City, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in
<br /> violation of any of the provisions of this code. Any person, firm, or
<br /> 24 corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed
<br /> guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a
<br /> 25 separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which
<br /> any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is committed,
<br /> 26 continued, or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation such
<br /> person shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $300 or by
<br /> 27 imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and
<br /> imprisonment.

<br /> 80-12 PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS.

<br /> (a) Permits required. No person, firm or corporation shall
<br /> 30 install, alter, replace, or extend any electrical work or
<br /> equipment except replacement of kind or as provided for in
<br /> 31 Section 15, "Work Started Without a Permit," without first
<br /> obtaining a separate electrical permit for each installation,
<br /> 32 alteration, replacement or extension from the Building
<br /> Official.
