E-18 1820 --- --- --- 2912 <br /> 7 <br /> Section 3: To provide a method of orderly transition from old salary schedules to a new <br /> 8 salary schedule, the following shall apply: <br /> 9 A. Any employee whose base salary under a previous schedule is greater than the <br /> base salary provided in the schedule contained in this ordinance, shall <br /> 10 continue to receive the previous base pay; provided, however, that an <br /> employee working in a classification designated to be in a salary range <br /> 11 prefaced by range letter "E" shall continue to receive the previous base salary <br /> if the Mayor has not set a new salary range within the limits of the <br /> 12 appropriate new "E" classification range as provided in this ordinance. <br /> B. Range numbers prefaced by "A", "B", and "C" are considered to be monthly <br /> 13 rates payable pursuant to applicable collective bargaining agreements. <br /> 14 C. Range numbers prefaced by"E" are considered to be the minimum and <br /> 15 maximum salary ranges within which the Mayor may set the salary to be paid <br /> to appointed employees. <br /> 16 D. Range numbers prefaced y "H" are to be considered as hourly rates payable <br /> 17 pursuant to applicable collective bargaining agreements. <br /> 18 E. Range numbers prefaced by "P" are established by City Council in accordance <br /> with the City Charter. <br /> 19 Section 4: <br /> 20 A. Seasonal day laborers employed by the City in the Recreation Department <br /> 21 will be rated by their qualifications, experience, and background, and type <br /> and nature of duties to be performed and compensated at a minimum of no <br /> 22 less than Two Dollars and Thirty Cents per hour, and a maximum of no more <br /> than Four Dollars per hour. These employees employed in the Recreation <br /> 23 Department are exempt from minimum wage, equal pay and overtime pay if <br /> they are employed less than seven months in any calendar year pursuant to <br /> 24 Section 13 (a), (b) of the Fair Labor Standards Act as amended April 8, 1974. <br /> 25 B. Day Laborers employed by the City in all other City Departments will be <br /> rated by their qualifications, experience and background, and compensated at <br /> a minimum of no less than Two Dollars and Thirty Cents per hour and a <br /> 26 maximum of no more than Four Dollars per hour except when Article VIII, <br /> 27 Section 6 of the AFSCME Local 113 Agreement applies. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
