WHEREAS, the City of Everett and Snohomish County strongly believe this <br /> project merits special designation and treatment by governmental bodies because it will <br /> bolster the local economy and impact the economy of the state as a whole; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett and Snohomish County will ask the State of <br /> Washington to designate this project a project of statewide significance pursuant to <br /> RCW Chap. 43.157 to expedite its completion; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Washington Aerospace Partnership, a non-profit organization <br /> made up of business, government and organized labor organizations with a mission for <br /> protecting Washington State's position as the globally recognized leader in aerospace <br /> innovation, design and manufacturing, will hire two consultants to assist in positioning <br /> the State to be as competitive as possible for the next generation 777 program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett and Snohomish County are members of the <br /> Washington Aerospace Partnership; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED by the Everett City Council and the <br /> Snohomish County Council that: <br /> 1. The Everett City Council along with Mayor Ray Stephanson and the Snohomish <br /> County Council along with County Executive John Lovick strongly support <br /> designation of the project as a project of statewide significance pursuant to RCW <br /> Chap. 43.157; <br /> 2. The City of Everett and Snohomish County will direct their departments to <br /> expedite and facilitate planning, permitting and construction of facilities that <br /> support the next generation 777 program; and <br /> 3. The City of Everett and Snohomish County applaud and support the Washington <br /> Aerospace Partnership's work to assist in positioning the State to be the home of <br /> the next generation 777 program. <br /> SNOHOMISH COUNTY COUNCIL EVERETT CITY COUNCIL <br /> APPROVED this 10th day of July, 2013.
