The following shall be the educational incentive plan schedule, based upon receipt <br /> 1 of approved college credits. There shall be a joint Everett Police Officers <br /> Association and City Administration Committee established which shall determine <br /> 2 the appropriateness of areas of study for which the incentive pay may be granted. <br /> Such pay may not be received during the initial nine month probation period. <br /> 3 <br /> After completion of 45 credits, $ 25.00 per month. <br /> 4 After completion of 90 credits, $ 50.00 per month. <br /> After completion of 135 credits, $ 75.00 per month. <br /> 5 After receiving a B.S. or B.A. degree, $100.00 per month. <br /> 6 Section 9: <br /> 7 Bus Operators, who are requested by their supervisors to act as Bus Operator <br /> trainers, shall be paid $1.00 per hour premium pay in addition to their regular <br /> 8 hourly rate. <br /> Section 10: <br /> 9 <br /> Employees receiving promotions will advance to the step in the higher classifica- <br /> 10 tion pay range which is higher than the step they were at in the range of the lower <br /> classification. Upon promotion, the employee's current appointment date for <br /> 11 future step pay increases will become the date upon which the promotion became <br /> effective. <br /> 12 <br /> Section 11: <br /> 13 <br /> Upon demotion, an employee shall be paid either at the step in the lower pay range <br /> 14 which is the amount equal to the step he had been at in the higher classification or <br /> at the highest step of the lower classification if all of the steps of the lower range <br /> 15 are below the step the employee had been at in the higher classification. <br /> Section 12: <br /> 16 <br /> All persons, other than those in the pay range prefaced "H", who are paid on an <br /> 17 hourly basis as hereinafter or herein set forth shall be considered and be Day <br /> Laborers as defined by the City Charter governing Civil Service. <br /> 18 <br /> Section 13: <br /> 19 Pursuant to the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973, and as may <br /> 20 be amended, hereinafter referred to as "CETA", the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br /> hire such employees in accordance with the terms of the Comprehensive <br /> 21 Employment and Training Act and such agreements as the Mayor, pursuant to <br /> his/her prior authorization to contract for employees under the Comprehensive <br /> 22 Employment and Training Act may enter. <br /> All CETA employees shall be paid in accordance with the above salary schedule and <br /> 23 their job title shall be prefaced by the symbol CETA. <br /> 24 Section 14: <br /> 25 Any and all ordinances in conflict herewith of the City of Everett and all <br /> amendments thereto be and the same, are hereby repealed. <br /> 26 Section-15: <br /> 27 Effective Date. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance <br /> shall take effect upon it becoming valid. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Mayor William E.
