• <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> 1 5.12.040 Operator's master license. <br /> 2 A. It is unlawful for anyone to be or become an operator without <br /> having a valid and subsisting license, to be designated as "operator's <br /> 3 amusement device master license." Each operator shall be issued <br /> such a master license with a number designated by the city clerk <br /> 4 and for each amusement device leased, rented or placed by the <br /> operator, an additional license to be known as an "operator's <br /> 5 amusement device sub-license" shall be required. The sub-license <br /> shall consist of a metal plate, with a number designated by the city <br /> 6 clerk, and shall be affixed to the device for which it is issued, in a <br /> conspicuous place under glass, the form and type of which shall be <br /> 7 prescribed by said city clerk upon which shall be imprinted the <br /> following: <br /> 8 <br /> "City of Everett - Amusement Device License, for <br /> 9 the year " (giving year of issue), "No. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 B. Not more than one such operator's master license shall be issued <br /> for each twenty thousand of the total census. When the number of <br /> 12 operator's master licenses reach four, then the operator's master <br /> license shall only be issued for each twenty-five thousand <br /> 13 population thereafter; provided however, that the per capita <br /> limitations on the number of master licenses provided for herein <br /> 14 shall not prevent any operator engaged in the amusement business <br /> as defined in Section 5.12.010 on January 17, 1968, from being <br /> 15 licensed, if such person obtains and continues in effect an <br /> operator's master license. No such operator's master license shall <br /> 16 be transferred; provided that on a bona fide sale of the holder's <br /> business, his right to such license may be transferred with the <br /> 17 consent by resolution of the city council. No transfer shall be <br /> effective until the transferee has procured such an operator's <br /> 18 master license and sub-license. <br /> 19 C. No such operator's master license shall be issued except to a <br /> citizen of the United States of good moral character, who has been <br /> 20 a resident of the state for at least five years prior to application <br /> therefor; providing that such residence and citizenship require- <br /> 21 ments shall not apply to prevent the renewal of a valid and <br /> subsisting operator's amusement device master license. <br /> 22 D. It is unlawful for any operator to place an amusement device in any <br /> 23 location not covered by the required location license as provided in <br /> Section 5.12.010, or to lease or rent to another for display or <br /> 24 exhibition for use or play therein, any amusement device. <br /> 25 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 26 <br /> 27 5.12.040 Master operator's license/Master operator's device license. <br /> 28 A. All master operators as defined in Section 5.12.010 (C) shall obtain <br /> two types of licenses: <br /> 29 1. Master operator's license. It is unlawful for anyone to be or <br /> 30 become a master operator without having applied for and <br /> been granted a valid and subsisting master operator's <br /> 31 license. Each license issued shall be numerically designated <br /> and dated by the City Clerk. <br /> 32 <br />
