• • • • 1 5.12.040 Operator's master license. 2 A. It is unlawful for anyone to be or become an operator without having a valid and subsisting license, to be designated as "operator's 3 amusement device master license." Each operator shall be issued such a master license with a number designated by the city clerk 4 and for each amusement device leased, rented or placed by the operator, an additional license to be known as an "operator's 5 amusement device sub-license" shall be required. The sub-license shall consist of a metal plate, with a number designated by the city 6 clerk, and shall be affixed to the device for which it is issued, in a conspicuous place under glass, the form and type of which shall be 7 prescribed by said city clerk upon which shall be imprinted the following: 8 "City of Everett - Amusement Device License, for 9 the year " (giving year of issue), "No. 10 11 B. Not more than one such operator's master license shall be issued for each twenty thousand of the total census. When the number of 12 operator's master licenses reach four, then the operator's master license shall only be issued for each twenty-five thousand 13 population thereafter; provided however, that the per capita limitations on the number of master licenses provided for herein 14 shall not prevent any operator engaged in the amusement business as defined in Section 5.12.010 on January 17, 1968, from being 15 licensed, if such person obtains and continues in effect an operator's master license. No such operator's master license shall 16 be transferred; provided that on a bona fide sale of the holder's business, his right to such license may be transferred with the 17 consent by resolution of the city council. No transfer shall be effective until the transferee has procured such an operator's 18 master license and sub-license. 19 C. No such operator's master license shall be issued except to a citizen of the United States of good moral character, who has been 20 a resident of the state for at least five years prior to application therefor; providing that such residence and citizenship require- 21 ments shall not apply to prevent the renewal of a valid and subsisting operator's amusement device master license. 22 D. It is unlawful for any operator to place an amusement device in any 23 location not covered by the required location license as provided in Section 5.12.010, or to lease or rent to another for display or 24 exhibition for use or play therein, any amusement device. 25 is hereby amended to read as follows: 26 27 5.12.040 Master operator's license/Master operator's device license. 28 A. All master operators as defined in Section 5.12.010 (C) shall obtain two types of licenses: 29 1. Master operator's license.
