Section 84: Tampering With A Witness <br /> 1. A person commits the offense of tampering with a witness if: <br /> a. He or she knowingly induces or attempts to <br /> induce a witness or a person he or she believes <br /> may be called as a witness in any official <br /> proceeding of the City of Everett or other <br /> individual or body hearing matters governed by <br /> City of Everett ordinances, to offer false <br /> testimony or unlawfully withhold any testimony; <br /> or <br /> b. He or she knowingly induces or attempts to <br /> induce a witness to absent himself or herself <br /> from any official proceeding of the City of <br /> Everett or other individual or body hearing <br /> matters governed by City of Everett ordinances, <br /> to which the witness has been legally summoned <br /> or voluntarily appeared. <br /> 2. Tampering with a witness is a Class A offense. <br />
