Section 2. SECTIONS NOT ADOPTED. The following sections of the MTO <br /> are not adopted by reference and are expressly deleted: <br /> 46.90.260 Traffic Engineer <br /> 46.90.265 Traffic Engineer Authority <br /> 46.90.270 Local Authority <br /> Substituting in their place Section 4 of this <br /> Ordinance. <br /> 46.90.710 and 46. 61. 515 Penalties <br /> Substituting in their place Section 15 of this <br /> Ordinance <br /> Section 3. SECTIONS ADDED. The MTO is modified in part by the <br /> addition of the following: <br /> 46.61.570 (a) of the MTO, add a new subsection: <br /> "Within any fire zone or exit; <br /> "Fire exit" means that portion of any street <br /> contiguous to and opposite any outside court, <br /> corridor, passage, fire escape, exit or entrance <br /> door, or any other place adjacent to, or any <br /> door opening in an outer wall of any building <br /> containing, in whole or in part, any theater, <br /> public auditorium, church, dance hall, or other <br /> public assembly through which the public must <br /> pass to leave such building; <br /> "Fire Zone" means an area of street in the vicinity <br /> of churches, schools, hospitals, theaters, or other <br /> public buildings; and an area along curves, narrow <br /> streets, and in alleys to facilitate unimpeded exit <br /> from buildings by large numbers of persons and to <br /> facilitate adequate maneuvering room for fire <br /> apparatus at all times." <br /> Section 4. AUTHORITY OF THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER, MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br /> (A) "Traffic Engineering Division Established. There is <br /> hereby established a Traffic Engineering Division of <br /> the Engineering Department which shall be under the <br /> control of a competent traffic engineer and which shall <br /> consist of such other employees as may be deemed <br /> necessary." <br /> (B) "Traffic Engineer - Authority. To authorize the <br /> installation and maintenance of a stop sign on each and <br /> every street intersecting the arterial street system <br /> unless traffic at any such intersection is controlled at <br /> all times by traffic signals, or unless the intersecting <br /> street is a one-way street designated for travel away <br /> from the arterial street: Provided, that when the findings <br /> of a traffic engineering study show that the condition <br /> of an intersection is such that vehicles may safely enter <br /> the arterial street without stopping, the traffic engineer <br /> may authorize the installation and maintenance of a <br /> "Yield" sign; <br />
