1 vacated within such time as the Building Official shall determine is reasonable <br /> (not to exceed 60 days from the date of the order; the order shall state the <br /> 2 date and time of the City Council meeting at which the Building Official shall <br /> submit a resolution of demolition to the City Council) . The resolution shall <br /> 3 state that all required permits be secured therefor within 60 days from the <br /> 4 date of the resolution, and that the demolition be completed within a time cer- <br /> tain that the City Council shall determine is reasonable. <br /> 5 <br /> §401(b) (3) (iv) . A resolution of demolition shall be enforced under the pro- <br /> 6 visions of Chapter Seven of this Code, as now or hereafter amended. <br /> 7 §401(b) (3) (v) . For the purposes of this Code, a resolution of demolition <br /> shall be treated as an order from the Building Official insofar as determining <br /> 8 notice (Chapter Four) , Manner and Procedure of Appeal (Chapter Five and <br /> 9 Chapter Six) , Enforcement (Chapter Seven) , Performance of Work (Chapter <br /> Eight) , Recovery of Cost (Chapter Nine) . <br /> 10 <br /> §401(b) (3) (vi) . If the Building Official has determined that the building <br /> 11 or structure must be secured, the order shall require that the building be <br /> secured against unauthorized entry within such time as the Building Official <br /> 12 shall determine is reasonable (not to exceed 20 days from the date of the order) <br /> 13 §403(a) - STANDARDS TO BE FOLLOWED. The following standards shall <br /> 14 be followed by the Building Official (the City Council if a demolition resolution <br /> and by the Board of Appeals if an appeal is taken) in ordering the repair, <br /> 15 vacation, or demolition of any dangerous building or structure: <br /> 16 (1) Any building declared a dangerous building shall either be <br /> repaired in accordance with the current Building Code or <br /> i7 shall be demolished at the option of the building owner. <br /> 18 (2) If the building or structure is in such condition as to make <br /> 19 it immediately dangerous to life, limb , property or safety of <br /> the public or its occupants , it shall be ordered vacated; a <br /> 20 vacated building may be required to be secured against un- <br /> authorized entry . <br /> 21 <br /> 22 CHAPTER EIGHT <br /> 23 §801(a) - PROCEDURE . When any work of repair, securing or demolition <br /> 24 is to be done pursuant to Section 701(c) of this Code, the Building Official shall <br /> issue his order therefor to the City Engineer and the work shall be accomplishes <br /> 25 by the City personnel or by private contract under the direction of said City <br /> Engineer. Plans and specifications therefor may be prepared by said Engineer <br /> 26 or he may employ such architectural and engineering assistance on a contract <br /> basis as he may deem reasonably necessary. If any part of the work is to be <br /> 27 accomplished by private contract, Standard Public Works contractual proce- <br /> 28 dures shall be followed. <br /> 29 CHAPTER NINE <br /> 30 <br /> §901. The City Engineer shall keep an itemized account of the expense in- <br /> 31 curred by the City in the repair, securing or demolition of any building done <br /> 32 <br /> -3- <br />
