• ORDINANCE NO. 433 - 7 7 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 282-74 and concerning first responses to medical aid emer- gencies in the City of Everett. 1 2 WHEREAS , the City of Everett desires to provide the best and most reason- 3 able response to requests for emergency medical aid and requests for ambulance 4 • transportation; and 5 WHEREAS , it has been determined that more efficient responses may be 6 achieved through a variable response plan; 7 NOW, THEREFORE , THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 8 9 Section 1: Ordinance No. 282-74, Section 13(b) is hereby amended to read 10 as follows: 11 Section 13: Emergency Aid System 12 (b) Immediate notification of all requests for emergency medical 13 aid received by the Fire Department to the Ambulance Company 14 and by the Ambulance Company to the Fire Department. 15 Section 2: Ordinance No. 282-74, Section 13(c) is hereby amended to read 16 as follows: 17 18 Section 13: Emergency Aid System 19 (c) Immediate response by either the Fire Department or the 20 Ambulance Company to requests for emergency medical aid within the City. The standard response to the various types 21 of requests for medical aid and emergency aid shall be de- termined by the Emergency Services Advisory Committee 22 (ESAC) in conjunction with the Medical Advisor to the City Emergency Aid Program. 23 24 Section 3: Ordinance No. 282-74, Section 14 is hereby amended to read as 25 follows: 26 27 Section 14: Emergency Medical Response 28 The Fire Department of the City of Everett should respond to requests 29 for medical aid within the City , and provide such service to persons within the City as required; provided, however, requests for ambu- 30 lance service shall be relayed to the ambulance company, the Fire Department shall not respond unless further information indicates 31 need of other emergency service. 32
