• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 433 - 7 7 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 282-74 and <br /> concerning first responses to medical aid emer- <br /> gencies in the City of Everett. <br /> 1 <br /> 2 WHEREAS , the City of Everett desires to provide the best and most reason- <br /> 3 able response to requests for emergency medical aid and requests for ambulance <br /> 4 • <br /> transportation; and <br /> 5 <br /> WHEREAS , it has been determined that more efficient responses may be <br /> 6 <br /> achieved through a variable response plan; <br /> 7 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE , THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Section 1: Ordinance No. 282-74, Section 13(b) is hereby amended to read <br /> 10 as follows: <br /> 11 <br /> Section 13: Emergency Aid System <br /> 12 <br /> (b) Immediate notification of all requests for emergency medical <br /> 13 aid received by the Fire Department to the Ambulance Company <br /> 14 and by the Ambulance Company to the Fire Department. <br /> 15 <br /> Section 2: Ordinance No. 282-74, Section 13(c) is hereby amended to read <br /> 16 <br /> as follows: <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Section 13: Emergency Aid System <br /> 19 <br /> (c) Immediate response by either the Fire Department or the <br /> 20 Ambulance Company to requests for emergency medical aid <br /> within the City. The standard response to the various types <br /> 21 of requests for medical aid and emergency aid shall be de- <br /> termined by the Emergency Services Advisory Committee <br /> 22 (ESAC) in conjunction with the Medical Advisor to the City <br /> Emergency Aid Program. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 <br /> Section 3: Ordinance No. 282-74, Section 14 is hereby amended to read as <br /> 25 <br /> follows: <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Section 14: Emergency Medical Response <br /> 28 The Fire Department of the City of Everett should respond to requests <br /> 29 for medical aid within the City , and provide such service to persons <br /> within the City as required; provided, however, requests for ambu- <br /> 30 lance service shall be relayed to the ambulance company, the Fire <br /> Department shall not respond unless further information indicates <br /> 31 need of other emergency service. <br /> 32 <br />
