1 A. To accomplish the intent of this section the Mayor shall annually prepare a budget for emergency medical aid 2 response . 3 B . The Mayor shall develop a plan that may include recom- 4 mendation of the Emergency Services Advisory Committee, to provide for an emergency medical aid response program 5 by: 6 1. Planning and budgeting for two Emergency Aid Cars (EAC) to be strategically located within the 7 City and to be equipped as required by this ordinance. 8 9 2. Planning and budgeting so that each in-service pumper within the City is equipped as an emer- 10 gency aid vehicle, in addition to necessary fire suppression equipment, as required by this ordi- 11 nance and as recommended by the Emergency Services Advisory Committee. 12 3. Developing a response pattern within the City 13 which maximizes the use of the two Emergency 14 Aid Cars and minimizes initial response time in a coordinated manner using the EAC vehicles and 15 the fire pumpers. 16 4. The EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers shall be utilized to provide emergency medical care at the 17 scene of injury or illness , and may provide trans- 18 portation of the sick and injured as outlined in Section 14, B-5. 19 5. The EAC may transport sick and injured when: 20 A. In the judgment of the officer in charge, 21 he determines transport must be immediate in a life support situation and the ambulance 22 is unavailable within a reasonable time. 23 24 Section 4: Effective Date.
