1 A. To accomplish the intent of this section the Mayor shall <br /> annually prepare a budget for emergency medical aid <br /> 2 response . <br /> 3 B . The Mayor shall develop a plan that may include recom- <br /> 4 mendation of the Emergency Services Advisory Committee, <br /> to provide for an emergency medical aid response program <br /> 5 by: <br /> 6 1. Planning and budgeting for two Emergency Aid <br /> Cars (EAC) to be strategically located within the <br /> 7 City and to be equipped as required by this <br /> ordinance. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 2. Planning and budgeting so that each in-service <br /> pumper within the City is equipped as an emer- <br /> 10 <br /> gency aid vehicle, in addition to necessary fire <br /> suppression equipment, as required by this ordi- <br /> 11 nance and as recommended by the Emergency <br /> Services Advisory Committee. <br /> 12 <br /> 3. Developing a response pattern within the City <br /> 13 which maximizes the use of the two Emergency <br /> 14 Aid Cars and minimizes initial response time in <br /> a coordinated manner using the EAC vehicles and <br /> 15 the fire pumpers. <br /> 16 4. The EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers shall be <br /> utilized to provide emergency medical care at the <br /> 17 scene of injury or illness , and may provide trans- <br /> 18 portation of the sick and injured as outlined in <br /> Section 14, B-5. <br /> 19 <br /> 5. The EAC may transport sick and injured when: <br /> 20 <br /> A. In the judgment of the officer in charge, <br /> 21 he determines transport must be immediate <br /> in a life support situation and the ambulance <br /> 22 is unavailable within a reasonable time. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Section 4: Effective Date.
