I <br /> 1 I <br /> 2 <br /> 3 3-30:bus FIrefter docx <br /> 4 SECTION 8-30 TRANSIT SHELTER AMENITIES <br /> 5 (New Section) <br /> 6 (******) I <br /> 7 8-30.1 Description <br /> I <br /> 8 <br /> 9 This work shall consist of construction of a complete bus shelter, including concrete pad, <br /> 10 bench, bike rack, receptacles, sign post & foundation, and bus stop sign, in accordance I <br /> 11 with these Specifications and the details shown in the Standard Plans, and in conforming <br /> 12 with the lines and dimensions shown in the Plans or established by the engineer. <br /> 13 Workmanship and finish of the aluminum shelter shall be equal to the best general <br /> 14 practice in modern aluminum fabricating shops. All Installations shall be performed in <br /> 15 accordance to manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 <br /> 18 8-30.2 Materials <br /> 19 <br /> I <br /> 20 Concrete WSDOT 6-02 <br /> 21 Steel - ASTM A 36 <br /> 22 Welder Wire Fabric for Concrete Pad - ASTM A 185. I 23 <br /> 24 8-30.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 25 I 26 8-30.3(1) Shelter <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Shelter shall be a Clear Anodized Aluminum Structure, with 1/4" clear tempered safety <br /> 29 glass; White Acrylic Dome Roof with Fascia/Gutter System. Upper opening glass <br /> 30 size shall measure 24%" x 49W. Upper opening glass size shall measure 24%" x <br /> 31 24%". <br /> 32 I 33 The Structure shall be stable with all windows and ground anchors removed. Shelter <br /> 34 shall withstand winds of up to 25 P.S.F. (80 MPH). Shelter is to be vandal resistant, <br /> 35 maintenance free and completely weatherproof. Shelter package is to include all <br /> 36 manufacture's recommended hardware and ground anchors. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 The structural frame of the shelter shall be clear anodized aluminum seamless 21/2" <br /> 39 square, 1/8" thick minimum. Alloy aluminum shall be 6063-T5. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 All extruded aluminum components of the shelter shall have a clear anodized finish. <br /> 42 All anodized finishes shall conform to the Aluminum Associations Standards for I <br /> 43 Anodized Aluminum, fifth edition. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 8-30.3(2) Connections <br /> 46 <br /> I <br /> N.
