All doors to the stairway enclosure shall be protected by a fire <br />assembly having a fire protectior. rating of not less than one hour. <br />3. Provide one-hour fire doors and jambs for the following listed <br />rooms. <br />a. Storage rocxn M52 <br />b. Mechanical room #42 <br />c. Electrical room #51 <br />4. Provide a smoke-tight lobby for the elevator at each floor level. <br />5. Window draperies, curtains and cubicle curtains shall be non- <br />canbustible or rendered and maintained flame resistant (1976 <br />NFPA Standard 101 Section 17-4.5). <br />6. Fire dampers shall be provided in accordance with the 1982 UBC <br />Sectian 4306(j). <br />7, Al1 carpeting shall be provided in accordance with Information <br />Sheet A4 enclosed. <br />8. Any wire glass wall area shall be computPd,in accordance with <br />Information Sheet A5 enclosed (1982 UBC Section 3305(2)). <br />9. Sho�� drawings of automatic sprinkler systems shall be submitted <br />for review and approval prior to installation. Installation <br />shall be on a light hazard schedule except service and storage <br />areas which shall be ordinary hazard. Sprinkler heads shall <br />be r,�ted at 135 degrees F. Sprinkle�s havir,g a higher temperature <br />rating may be used in areas where elevated temperatures are <br />anticipated. Kitchen hoods and ducts shali be protected by auto- <br />matic sprinklers. All electrical and telephone rooms and closets <br />shall he sprinklered. Instaliation shall be in accordance with <br />1976 NFPA Standard 13. <br />10. Shop drawings of the automatic smoke detection and fire alarm system <br />shall be submitted for review and aparoval prior to installation. <br />Warning signals shall be both visuai a�d audible. (ANSI A117.1-1961(r) <br />1971 Standard) Manual fire alarm devices shall be mounted not more <br />than 54 inches above the finish floor. Smoke detection is required <br />in all corridors and stair enclosures. The decibel readin9 in the <br />most remote area shall be not less than 60 and at least 15 above the <br />nor�nal,ambient noise level. All equipment shall be Underwriters <br />Laboratories listed and installed in accordance with NFPA Standard <br />72A-1979. <br />
