These <br /> comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br /> departmenu (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1997 Uniform Building <br /> Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Ca�ie 1997 Edition, <br /> unless stated othenvise. <br /> In order for the processin�of your application to continue, it will be nec to <br /> provide the Building Divis�on with two complete new sets of slrawings re�ing <br /> fhe corrections requested. <br /> NONSTRUCTURAL <br /> Ceneral <br /> l. When using azea separation walls (ASV�, yazds aze based on those open spaces adjacent to <br /> each building separated by the ASW. For the buil:ing submitted, an azea increase may only ' <br /> be based on sepazation on two sides (Section 505.1.1). The maximum increase for each <br /> building would be x 1.5 allowable. The westem building is then over azea. <br /> 2. It should be clarified that the areas used for the allowable area calculations are based on the <br /> total gross area of each building and not excluding mechanical rooms (exclusive of vent <br /> shafts),elevators or stairs as is mentioned by note on the cover sheet. Section 207 <br /> 3. Parapet walls constructed per the requirements of Section 709.4.2 aze required on the poRion <br /> of the northem wall that is adjacent to the neighboring properry. Section 709.4.1 <br /> 4. It should be shown on the plans that a listed smoke detector be placed neaz the elevator <br /> entrance that upon activation will prohibit the elevator from opening and shall retum it to the <br /> main floor. Section 3003.2 <br /> Occupancy <br /> 1.
