I <br /> 1 1. The Contractor shall be responsible and reimburse the Owner for the costs of inspections, if <br /> inspections occur outside of Whatcom, Skagit, Island, Snohomish, King,Pierce and Thurston counties <br /> if: <br /> a. Inspection and testing of materials or Equipment in the vicinity of the Work by the Owner is not <br /> practicable, or <br /> b. The Contractor requests the Owner to inspect and test material or Equipment at the point of <br /> manufacture, or <br /> c. The Specifications require that inspection,testing or witnessing of tests take place at the point of <br /> manufacture. <br /> 2. Costs to be paid or reimbursed by the Contractor include, but are not limited to, travel, subsistence, <br /> labor and lodging expenses of the Owner's inspector. <br /> E. Testing and Commissioning of Completed Work <br /> 1. Testing and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems and completed <br /> portions of the Work, functioning as a completed system and the complete Project, functioning as a <br /> completed facility,shall be done in accordance with the Specifications. <br /> F. Storage of Materials and Equipment <br /> 1. Contractor shall store materials and Equipment so as to insure the preservation of their quality and <br /> fitness for the Work. <br /> 2. Stored Equipment and materials shall be located so as to facilitate inspection. <br /> 3. The Contractor shall be responsible for damages, loss or casualty occurring to materials and <br /> Equipment until Final Acceptance. <br /> 4. See Section 01 65 50. <br /> G. Manufacturer's Directions <br /> 1. Manufactured articles, material and Equipment shall be transported, stored, applied, installed, <br /> ' connected, erected, adjusted, tested, operated and maintained as recommended by the manufacturer, <br /> unless otherwise specified herein. <br /> 2. Manufacturer's installation instructions and procedures shall be provided to the Owner prior to <br /> installation of the manufactured articles, material and Equipment. <br /> G. DEFECTIVE WORK <br /> A. Correction of Defective Work <br /> 1. When, and as often as the Owner's Representative determines through his or her inspection <br /> procedures, material, Equipment or workmanship incorporated in the Project do not meet the <br /> requirements of the Contract, the Owner's Representative will give written notice of the <br /> noncompliance to the Contractor. Within 14 days from the receipt of such notice,the Contractor shall <br /> undertake the Work necessary to correct the deficiencies, and to comply with the Contract. If the <br /> Contractor disagrees with the Owner's Representative's determination and believes that the corrective <br /> Work should be covered by a Change Order,he or she shall immediately notify the Owner, in writing, <br /> setting forth its position.
