I <br /> SECTION 01 11 00 <br /> SUMMARY OF WORK <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.1 DESCRIPTION <br /> A. General: <br /> 1. Furnish all labor,materials,tools,equipment and services as indicated in accordance with <br /> provisions of Contract Documents. <br /> 2. It is the intent of the Contract Documents to describe a functionally complete project. <br /> Furnish and install all supplementary or miscellaneous items,appurtenances,and devices <br /> incidental to or necessary for a sound, secure, complete,and functional installation. <br /> 1.2 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT <br /> A. The Work of this Contract under the Base Bid generally includes the following: <br /> 1. Construction of a new pile supported Chlorine Building for storage and metering of sodium <br /> hypochlorite and ammonium hydroxide. <br /> 2. Modification of the existing wastewater lagoon dike wall to raise the grade from <br /> approximately EL 12-13 to EL 15 and modify the access roadway to the new Chlorine <br /> Building. <br /> 3. Removal of two existing culvert pipes(from the Polishing Pond to the Chlorine Contact <br /> Channel)and replacement with a pile supported concrete box culvert. <br /> 4. Removal of two existing manhole vaults along the Snohomish River short that are <br /> connected to the Final Effluent North(FEN)48 inch diameter outfall pipe. Replacement of <br /> the vaults with a new 96 inch pile support effluent manhole and 48 inch steel pipe <br /> connections. <br /> 5. Removal and replacement of existing diffuser check valves in the Snohomish River that <br /> serve to discharge the effluent from the FEN facility. <br /> 6. Removal and replacement of existing standby generator located at the FEN Dechlorination <br /> Building, including a new pile supported foundation. <br /> 7. Demolition of the existing Chlorine Building and regarding of both the site around the new <br /> Chlorine Building and the new effluent manhole. <br /> 1.3 WORK BY OTHERS <br /> iA. Some of the electric components involved in this construction are provided by the electric utility. <br /> The Contractor shall coordinate the construction with the electric utility and shall provide <br /> adequate notice to the utilities of any work required in advance or requiring presence of their <br /> personnel. The Contractor will be responsible for providing a complete system and coordinating <br /> all required work,whether by the Contractor or the utility.
