I <br /> 1 All luminaires shall include shorting caps when shipped. The caps shall be removed and <br /> 2 provided to the Contracting Agency when an alternate control device is required to be <br /> I <br /> 3 installed in the photocell socket. House side shields shall be included when required by <br /> 4 the Contract. Order codes shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to include <br /> 5 the option for house side shields. <br /> I 6 <br /> 7 This section is supplemented with the following new subsections: <br /> 8 <br /> I 9 9-29.10(1)A High Pressure Sodium (HPS) Conventional Roadway Luminaires <br /> 10 HPS conventional roadway luminaires shall meet the following requirements: <br /> 11 <br /> I 12 1. General shape shall be "cobrahead" style, with flat glass lens and full cutoff <br /> 13 optics. <br /> 14 <br /> I 15 2. Light pattern distribution shall be IES Type iii. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 3. The reflector of all luminaires shall be of a snap-in design or secured with <br /> 18 screws. The reflector shall be polished aluminum or prismatic borosilicate <br /> 1 19 glass. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 4. Flat lenses shall be formed from heat resistant, high-impact, molded <br /> I 22 borosilicate or tempered glass. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 5. The lens shall be mounted in a doorframe assembly, which shall be hinged to <br /> I 25 the luminaire and secured in the closed position to the luminaire by means of <br /> 26 an automatic latch. The lens and doorframe assembly, when closed, shall <br /> 27 exert pressure against a gasket seat. The lens shall not allow any light output <br /> I 28 above 90 degrees nadir. Gaskets shall be composed of material capable of <br /> 29 withstanding the temperatures involved and shall be securely held in place. <br /> 30 <br /> I 31 6. The ballast shall be mounted on a separate exterior door, which shall be <br /> 32 hinged to the luminaire and secured in the closed position to the luminaire <br /> 33 housing by means of an automatic type of latch (a combination hex/slot <br /> 34 stainless steel screw fastener may supplement the automatic-type latch). <br /> I 35 <br /> 36 7. Each luminaire shall be capable of accepting a 150, 200, 250, 310, or 400 watt <br /> 37 lamp complete and associated ballast. Lamps shall mount horizontally. <br /> I 38 <br /> 39 9-29.10(1)6 Light Emitting Diode (LED) Conventional Roadway Luminaires <br /> 40 LED Conventional Roadway Luminaires are divided into classes based on their <br /> I 41 equivalent High Pressure Sodium (HPS) luminaires. Current classes are 200W, 250W, <br /> 42 310W, and 400W. LED luminaires are required to be pre-approved in order to verify <br /> 43 their photometric output. To be considered for pre-approval, LED luminaires must meet <br /> I 44 the requirements of this section. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 LED luminaires shall include a removable access door, with tool-less entry, for access <br /> 47 to electronic components and the terminal block. The access door shall be removable, <br /> I48 but include positive retention such that it can hang freely without disconnecting from the <br /> 49 luminaire housing.
