ORDINANCE NO. 7 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 14.16.600 of the Everett Municipal Code by providing certain amendments and additions relating to fire hydrants and standpipes . 1 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 2 Section 1: That Section 14.16.600(H) which reads as follows: 3 H. Installation of Fire Hydrants in Commercial and Manufacturing 4 Zones Required. The owner of any building located within one thousand feet of a city water main and within a commercial or 5 manufacturing or industrial use zone established by the city zoning code then in effect, which building is not within one 6 hundred sixty-five feet of an existing fire hydrant, shall in- stall, n-stall, at his expense, a fire hydrant at a location one hundred 7 sixty-five feet or less from the building, together with what- 8 ever pipes and connections are necessary to connect the hydrant to the existing city water supply . 9 Being the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 10 H. The owner of any building located within one 12 thousand feet of a city water main and within a commercial or manufacturing or industrial use zone established by the city 13 zoning code then in effect, which building is not within two hundred feet of an existing fire hydrant, shall install, at his 14 expense, a fire hydrant at a location two hundred feet or less from the building, together with whatever pipes and connections 15 are necessary to connect the hydrant to the existing city water 16 supply. 17 Section 2: That Section 14.16.600(I) which reads as follows: 18 I. Installation of Fire Hydrants Near Schools, Churches, Hospitals, Assembly Buildings , Etc. Required. The owners of any build- 19 ing used for a school, church, rest home , hospital, residential apartment, or place of public assembly in whatever use district 20 located, which building is not within one hundred sixty-five 21 feet of an existing fire hydrant, shall install, at his expense, a fire hydrant at a location one hundred sixty-five feet or less from 22 such building, together with whatever pipes and connections are necessary to connect the hydrant to the existing city water supply. 23 Being the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 24 I.
