Proposed Operating Plan for Mount Rainier National Park <br /> 2019 Winter Day Use <br /> January 12 (Sat.)—Reflection Lakes Snowshoe. Narada Falls Trailhead. Snowshoe the wanded route <br /> from the Narada Falls comfort station to Reflection Lakes via the Inspiration Saddle. Return the same <br /> way. <br /> February 3 (Sun.)—Paradise Area Snowshoe. Park in the Overnight/overflow parking area by the old <br /> visitor center site. Snowshoe a loop route around the Paradise area,going through Barn Flats, up past <br /> the Paradise Inn, across the meadows toward Nisqually vista and back to the parking area. We stay clear <br /> of the main parking lot and snow play area. <br /> March 9(Sat.)—Ricksecker Point Scenic Vista Road Snowshoe. Park in the large shoulder area near the <br /> Ricksecker Point Vista. Snowshoe the (unplowed)vista road for about 60-90 minutes total. <br /> March 23(Sat.)—Rampart Ridge Loop. Park at Longmire. Snowshoe a loop route going up the Rampart <br /> Ridge Trail and coming down the Wonderland Trail. <br /> December 14 (Sat.)--Paradise Area Snowshoe. OR CONSIDER AS PART OF 2020 PERMIT? Park in the <br /> Overnight/overflow parking area by the old visitor center site. Snowshoe a loop route around the <br /> Paradise area, going through Barn Flats, up past the Paradise Inn, across the meadows toward Nisqually <br /> vista and back to the parking area. We stay clear of the main parking lot and snow play area. <br /> NOTES THAT APPLY TO ALL WINTER DAY TRIPS: <br /> - We will be bringing one vehicle and one vehicle only to the park.Vehicle is 2WD but we do carry <br /> chains. Guide has 25+years' experience driving in mountain snow and has put chains on over 50 <br /> times. <br /> - Maximum group size (guide+clients)for all trips will be 12. We will have one lead guide and <br /> one assistant guide,for a maximum C/G ratio of 5:1. <br /> - All of our trip participants are provided with several documents at time or registration, including <br /> information on Leave No Trace, Safety Issues For Hikers, and general info that they all need to <br /> know(copies of these documents are attached) <br /> - Most participants are experienced snowshoers and use their own snowshoes.
