o First, at trip departure from our base in Everett.This briefing includes: <br /> • Overview of the day's activity <br /> • Weather, snow conditions, expected obstacles <br /> • Equipment requirements and recommendations <br /> • Participant introductions <br /> o Second, at the trailhead.This briefing includes: <br /> • Review of expected plan and conditions <br /> • Check of equipment(adequate clothing, water,food, etc.) <br /> • Review of Leave No Trace and Safety Issues <br /> • Mention of NPS mission and geologic hazards of Mt. Rainier. <br /> • Repeat the participant introductions <br /> - In general, any incidents or accidents that occur on trips with the park will be handled by the <br /> lead guide in accordance with training received in WFR courses. <br /> - First Aid supplies are carried by the guide and each participant. Cell phones are assumed NOT to <br /> work in backcountry areas,so communication in the event of an incident is managed carefully. If <br /> an accident requires outside assistance, details will be WRITTEN DOWN and carried out by a <br /> responsible person in the company of at least two others if possible. Our outdoor program has <br /> detailed risk management and accident response procedures on file. <br />
