Fire lanes shall be <br /> identifiod by rod curbs with whito stonciling stating"NO PARKING-FIRG LANG"and verlical <br /> signs staling"NO f'ARKING -FIRE LANE-TOW AWAY ZONE- EMC 46.28.130". Location <br /> shall be approved by the�ire Code Official. <br /> 4. Fire Lane Markina (per field evaluation1- Fire apparatus access roads shall be marked <br /> whenever necessary to maintain the wiobsiructed mmimwn required width o(roadways. Fire <br /> lanes shall be marked as follows: <br /> a. The words 'NO PARKING- FIRE IAN�'shall be in 3•inch stroke white letiers 18 inches <br /> in height, and placed a inches measured perpendicular from the red paint stripe on the <br /> pavement. In most cases, both sides of the access road shall be marked. Where Iong <br /> drives are to be marked, lhe repetilions shall altemate sides of the drive. <br /> b. Marking shall also include the addition of inetal signs stating'NO PARKING- FIRE <br /> LANC--TOW AWAY ZONE-EMC 4�.28.130' to be inslalled al inlervals or localions <br /> designated by the Fire Code Oificial. The signs shall be approximately 12 inches in <br /> widlh and 18 inchea in heighl and have red lelters on a white background. Melal signs <br /> shall be instalied on either 2-inch metal pipes for private property or treated 4-inch by 4- <br /> inch wood posts for public property and shall be located so li iat the bottom of 1he sign is <br /> a minimum of 7 feet above the curb. Where fire lanes are adjacent to buildings or <br /> structures and when approved or direcled by lhe Fire Cotle Ofiicial, the signs may be <br /> placed on lhe face of lhe building or struclure. <br /> 5. Fire Hvdranis-Locations as planned are acceptable. <br /> 6. Fire flow for this project is 1,500 gpm. <br /> 7.
