PRODUCTS AND SUBSTITUTIONS <br /> 016300 - 3 <br /> 5. Provide a statement indicating the effect the substitution will have on the <br /> work schedule in comparison to the schedule without approval of the <br /> proposed substitution. Include information regarding the effect of the <br /> proposed substitution on the Contract Time. <br /> 6. Provide complete cost information, including a proposal of the net change, <br /> if any in the Contract Sum. <br /> 7. Provide certification by the Contractor to the effect that, in the Contractor's <br /> opinion, after thorough evaluation, the proposed substitution will result in <br /> work that in every significant respect is equal-to or better than the work <br /> required by the Contract documents, and that it will perform adequately in <br /> the application indicated. Include in this certification the Contractor's <br /> waiver of rights to additional payment or time,which may subsequently be <br /> necessary because of the failure of the substitution to perform adequately. <br /> 4.3. Architect/Engineer's Action: Within one week of receipt of the Contractor's request <br /> for substitution, the Architect/Engineer will request additional information or <br /> documentation as may be needed for evaluation of the request. Within 3 weeks of <br /> receipt of the request, or within two weeks of receipt of the requested additional <br /> information or documentation,which ever is later,the Architect/Engineer will notify <br /> the Contractor of either the acceptance or rejection of the proposed substitution. <br /> 5. PRODUCT DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br /> 5.1. General: Deliver, store, and handle products in accordance with manufacturer's <br /> recommendations, using means and methods that will prevent damage, <br /> deterioration and loss, including theft. Control delivery schedules to minimize <br /> long-term storage at the site and to prevent overcrowding of construction spaces. <br /> In particular coordinate delivery and installation to ensure minimum holding or <br /> storage times for items known or recognized to be flammable, hazardous, easily <br /> damaged, or sensitive to deterioration, theft and other sources of loss. <br /> 1. Deliver products to the site in the manufacturer's sealed container or other <br /> packaging system, complete with labels and instructions for handling, <br /> storing, unpacking,protecting and installing. <br /> 2. Store products at the site in a manner that will facilitate inspection and <br /> measurement of quantity of counting of units. <br /> 3. Store heavy materials away from the project structure in a manner that will <br /> not endanger the supporting construction. <br /> 02/19/13 <br /> I <br />
