Submit product data for all materials specified. <br /> PART 2 -PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 GENERAL <br /> A. Comply with "Quality Control" provisions, "References", Specifications, and Manufacturer's <br /> data.Where these may be in conflict,the more stringent requirements govern. <br /> B. Conform to APAW - Section II, "Specifications for Asphalt Paving" of above referenced <br /> manual. Provide bases, type and thickness of asphalt concrete as required by type of soils for <br /> indicated use. <br /> 2.2 CRUSHED SURFACING BASE COURSE <br /> A. Base course shall be clean crushed rock, 5/8" maximum size uniformly graded from course to <br /> fine. <br /> B. The fracture requirement(75%minimum) shall be at least one mechanically fractured face and <br /> will apply to material retained on each sieve size No. 10 and above if that sieve retains more <br /> than 5 percent of the total sample. The portion of crushed surfacing retained on a 1/4-inch <br /> square sieve shall not contain more than 0.15 percent wood waste. <br /> 2.3 TACK COAT <br /> A. Tack coat shall be a diluted emulsion, type SS-1, SS-1h, CSS-1 or CSS-lh, with equal parts of <br /> water. <br /> 2.4 ASPHALT BINDER <br /> A. Asphalt binder for asphalt treated base shall be AR-4000W meeting the requirements of Section <br /> 9-02.1(4)of WSDOT-APWA. <br /> 2.5 ASPHALT CONCRETE <br /> A. All asphalt paving proportions shall conform WSDOT Test Method 705 Degradation value - <br /> Section 9-03.8 (6)unless otherwise noted.This is Type B' material. <br /> B. WSDOT Test Method 113 Maximum Specific Gravity/Bituminous Paving Mixture <br /> C. Asphalt wearing course: The aggregates shall meet the following gradations: <br /> U.S. Standard Sieve Size Percent Passing by Dry Weight <br /> 5/8 inches 100 <br /> 1/2 inch 90-100 <br /> 3/8 inch 75-90 <br /> 1/4 inch 55-75 <br /> No.4 20-40 <br /> No. 8 10-20 <br /> No.40 15-5 <br /> No.200(wet sieve) 3-7 <br /> ASPHALT 32 1216-2 <br />
