TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 015000- 1 <br /> SECTION 015000-TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 1. GENERAL <br /> 1.1 General: Comply with Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including <br /> General, Supplementary, and other Conditions, and with Division 01 specification <br /> sections. <br /> 1.2 Related Requirements: <br /> 1. Section 010100—Summary of the Work <br /> 2. Section 017000—Project Closeout <br /> 2. DEFINITIONS <br /> 2.1. Refer to General Conditions for basic commitments to provide temporary facilities. <br /> This section specifies certain minimum temporary facilities to be provided, <br /> regardless of methods and means selected for performance of the work,but not by <br /> way of limitation and not assured for compliance with governing regulations. Use of <br /> alternate temporary facilities is Contractor's option, subject to Architect's acceptance. <br /> Temporary facilities is defined to exclude tools and construction machines, testing, <br /> demolition, alterations, soil borings, mock-ups and similar items. <br /> 2.2. Costs: Costs associated with temporary facilities are the responsibility of the <br /> Contractor(in Contract Sum) including power/fuel/domestic and irrigation water <br /> usage until time of Substantial Completion for each major area of project. <br /> Temporary facilities remain property of Contractor. <br /> 2.3. Description of Requirements: Provide temporary services and facilities ready for use <br /> when first needed to avoid delay in the work. Maintain, expand and modify as <br /> needed. Do not remove until no longer needed, or replaced by authorized use of <br /> permanent facilities. <br /> 2.4. Regulations: Comply with requirements of local laws and regulations governing <br /> construction and local industry standards, in the installation and maintenance of <br /> temporary services and facilities. <br /> 2.5. Standards: Comply with the requirements of NFPA Code 241, "Building <br /> Construction and Demolition Operations", the ANSI-Al0 Series standards for <br /> "Safety Requirements for Construction and Demolition", and the NECA National <br /> Joint Guideline NJG-6 "Temporary Job Utilities and Services". <br /> 2.6. Inspections: Inspect and test each service before placing temporary utilities in use. <br /> Arrange for inspections and tests by governing authorities, and obtain certifications <br /> and permits for use. <br /> 2.7. Installation: Use qualified tradesmen for installation. Locate temporary services and <br /> facilities where they will serve the project adequately and result in minimum <br /> interference with the work. <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
