Sabrina Fandler
From: Erik Emerson
Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2017 5:14 PM
To: Brett Nicholson; Sabrina Fandler
Cc: Jack Molver
Subject: RE: Revision to FedEx storm drain plan
Follow Up Flag: Follow up
Flag Status: Flagged
Sabrina,
The documents submitted in the email below address my concerns. I recommend approval of the revisions. Let me know
if you need me to sign anything for the revision.
—Erik
From: Brett Nicholson [mailto:Bjn@deainc.com]
Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2017 3:37 PM
To: Erik Emerson; Sabrina Fandler
Cc: Jack Molver
Subject: RE: Revision to FedEx storm drain plan
Erik and Sabrina,
I have revised the redline plan to specify that the clamps be oversized to allow for expansion and contraction. The clamp
posts will be 5' long steel corden rod, and is included as the last page in the product submittal. I have specified the type
of clamp and rod on the redline plans, and can make sure that it gets copied to the as-builts for future maintenance
purposes. Individual clamps will be used for each pipe, with adequate spacing between the pipes for the clamp rods to
be inserted.
The velocity of the outfall discharge is approximately 32 fps, so an engineered dissipator is required. I have included a
stamped outfall protection design based on the U.S. Department of Transportation Hydraulic Design of Energy
Dissipators for Culverts and Channels.
I have attached revised redlines and a revised Memo for this request. Please let us know if it will be acceptable to
proceed based on these plans.
Thanks,
Brett Nicholson, PE
David Evans and Associates, Inc.
1620 W.
